Watch the Temperature of the Water

Hot water is going to get rid of your natural hair oils (sebum) and by getting rid of that protective barrier, you really are getting rid of the oils that contribute to shine.  Don’t worry, you don’t need to stand there shivering in a cold shower.  Just use luke warm water to wash your hair.  While you wash your hair always use those fingers to massage and stimulate your scalp circulation.

Use Essential Oils

Mix an essential oil into your shampoo or conditioner: add jojoba or almond oil.  All you need is about 1 tbsp of each into an 80z bottle.

Natural Hair: Did You Know…

If you want to darken your natural hair, try some black walnuts.  Just crack a few of them and bring water to a boil.  Then put in the entire, cracked, walnut into the boiling water.  Leave it there boiling for 10-20 minutes.  Then put on some gloves so you can avoid staining your hands with the walnut.  Apply this dye to your hair and put on a shower cap for 30 minutes.  Then make sure you rinse and shampoo your hair!
